Ce_xZr_(1-x)O_2 were synthesized by citric acid sol-gel method. Redox behavior and phases of Ce_xZr_(1-x)O_2 depend on Ce/Zr ratio. Ce_xZr_(1-x)O_2 for x ≥ 0.85 is fluorite cubic solid solution structure and it for x < 0.85 is mixture of cubic and tetragonal structure, ZrO_2 is mixture of monoclinic and tetragonal structure. For cubic structure, the increasing amount of ZrO_2 should favor Ce_xZr_(1-x)O_2 reduction and tetragonal structure is reverse and the highest redox is Ce_(0.85)Zr_(0.15)O_2 among whole composition. The catalytic activity in oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane by carbon dioxide is related with the redox of Ce_xZr_(1-x)O_2. The higher of redox catalysts, the higher CO selection and lower C_2H_4 selection.
