Hygrothermal enclosure models: comparison with field data

摘要

Several detailed hygrothermal building enclosure simulation tools are now widely available to the practitioner. This paper compares measured hygrothermal performance to that predicted by a widely available one-dimensional hygrothermal computer model. Two projects, one of a retrofit masonry building and one of an earth-plastered strawbale building are presented. Conclusions regarding the challenges and benefits of comparing model to field measurements from buildings in use.
