An extraordinary storm occurred at the upper reach of the Qingjian River of the middle Yellow River on 4th, July, 2002. An exceptional big flood attacked the Zichang County, Qingjian County and Yanchuan County of Shaanxi Province suddenly. The local peoples' lives and belongings suffered a magnitude loss. The information about the storm, flood, sediment and disaster are introduced. Suggestions on flood control, water and soil conservation etc. are put forward.
