In this study, the 'image color intensity analyzer' is applied to specimens of sludge brick and the relationships among the combustion chamber temperatures, percent weight of incinerated sludge ash added, and changes to the three primary color components, red, green, and blue, of these specimens are studied. Through the help of these relationships, indices in quantifying the quality of the sludge brick are evaluated. This research involves testing the specimens of sludge brick under designated firing temperatures, using a digital camera to capture images of the tested specimens and uploading them to the personal computer. The intensities of R, G, and B are obtained through the "image color intensity analyzer". Results show that red has the highest intensity, followed by green, then blue. Differences between red and green as well as red and blue increase with rising temperatures making the surface of brick brighter red. Additionally, the intensities of red, green, and blue show little change between 200°C~400°C. However, rising temperatures affect the color changes more as the bricks become matured at temperatures higher than 800°C.
