Founded 1967 by Michael Kral. It was through his chromium mines Michael became involved with Linde and the A.O.D. Privately owned company for the last 24 years; owned by G.O. Carlson, Inc. Electralloy had the first commercial licensed A.O.D. vessel in the world For clarification, Joslyn and Cabot both had R&D units. Electralloy was the third unit but the first commercial licensed. The first EAF melt was in June 1968, the first melt in the A.O.D. vessel was July 1970 and the second vessel was commissioned 1974.
