Due to the fact that the benefit of electro-hydraulic applications in mobile machinery are approved by the market, a large number of proportional pressure reducing valves which are often used as pilot stage are produced nowadays. Despite of high development effort and optimized production processes, small deviations between the valves (valve-to-valve accuracy) cannot be avoided. For some applications it is necessary to adjust the valve characteristics very accurately. This paper shows different examples of valve adjustment with and without the compensation of the hydraulic main stages including new approaches in mechanical and electronic adjusting. The systems are compared with regards to functionality, price and benefit.
