Computer analysis and simulation are helping hydraulic control system designers minimize pressure drop and balance flow forces in cartridge valves to create more efficient hydraulic circuits. This presentation will focus on the application and integration of finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and circuit simulation software to design efficient directional, flow and pressure control systems for construction or agricultural equipment using hydraulic cartridge valves and manifolds. With simulation, it is now possible to accurately determine pressure profiles in a cartridge valve or manifold and optimize them with simple design adjustments before installation on a machine.
