A weakly absorbing species, molecular oxygen’s analytical sensitivity is dramatically enhanced by catalytic transformation to moisture vapor followed by Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS) analysis of the product in a fast and quantitative manner. This concept has resulted in a high-performance trace oxygen gas analyzer with no wet chemistry involved and no zero or span calibration required. The instrument has an estimated lower detection limit of ~100 parts-pertrillion (ppt), as well as excellent linearity and accuracy based on extensive in-house evaluation, as well as customer site Beta testing against NIST traceable blend standards.
