摘要

Studies have shown that up to 93% or swine herds in the world are affected by enzootic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, making this one of the most prevalent and costly swine diseases.1 Enzootic pneumonia causes substantial losses which can be attributed to increased susceptibility to other respiratory pathogens and reduced animal performance. Methods to control infections associated with M hyopneumoniae are limited to the use of antibiotics, environmental and management improvements, and vaccinations.11 However, the volume of available information on M hyopneumoniae vaccines, limited access to journals and reports, and differences in study design and study outcomes make it difficult for practitioners to make informed clinical decisionsabout comparative efficacies regarding commercial M hyopneumoniae vaccines. Therefore, a systematic review was conducted to analyze and compare the results of studies reporting prevention of mycoplasmal pneumonia using a commercially available M hyopneumoniae vaccines.
