Polymeric microspheres were manufactured by the solvent extraction/evaporation technique for controlled protein delivery. Effects of polymers (PLGA and PELA), organic solvents (DCM, ethyl acetate and acetone), additives (PEG and Vitamin E TPGS) as well as processing parameters (e.g. mechanical strength of emulsification) were investigated.
