Synthetic antidotes against snake neurotoxins

We previously used a combinatorial library approach to produce synthetic peptide mimotopes of the snake neurotoxin binding site of nicotinic receptors [1].These peptides bind the snake neurotoxin alpha-bungarotoxin (alpha-bgt) with higher binding capacity than those reproducing native receptor sequences and inhibit toxin binding to nicotinic receptors in vitro.
