摘要

Gastric ulcers have long been recognized as a cause of mortality in the pork industry. In the US, mortality due to gastric ulceration and hemorrhage has been estimated at 2.5%. The prevalence of gastric lesions in slaughter hogs has been reported as 60-80%. Gastric ulceration in pigs most commonly involves the non-glandular pars esophagea. Porcine gastric ulceration is currently best described as a multifactorial condition, with several bacterial pathogens, feed and farm management practices being implicated as causative factors." A considerable amount of work has been invested in elucidating the role of bacterial pathogens in this condition. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of feed grade antimicrobials with different spectra of activity on the occurrence and severity of gastric lesions in market weight pigs.
