A conclusive diagnosis of swine mange is only possible by demonstrating the mite in skin scrapings. However, this method has a low sensitivity. Indirect diagnostic methods (allergic reaction > dermatitis score, pruritus > scratch index) may be helpfulfor herd diagnosis. Recently, serological tests have been developed for detection of specific serum antibodies to S. scabiei var. suis (1). The objective of this study was to observe the course of antibody titres of weaners after contact infection withS. scabiei var. suis and after antiparasitic treatment. Therefor results of 3 different ELISAs were compared.
