CLINICAL CONFIRMATION OF FIELD EFFICACY OF LINCO-SPECTIN~R PREMIX IN COMPARISON WITH TYLAN~R PREMIX 10 AS IN-FEED MEDICATION FOR TREATMENT OF PROLIFERATIVE ENTEROPATHY IN PIGS

摘要

In 1998, Pharmacia Animal Health conducted a well-controlled clinical Lawsonia intracellulars challenge study1 in 130 pigs. Based on this study, it was demonstrated that Linco-Spectin~R Premix at 88 ppm for 3 consecutive weeks was effective in the control and/or treatment of proliferative enteritis (ileitis) in pigs. The question remained if an experimental challenge study was representative of an ileitis outbreak in swine under field conditions.
