摘要

The pitting susceptibility of a low-nickel austenitic stainless steel has been evaluated by potentiodynamic measurements. Results are compared with those corresponding to the conventional AISI 304 steel. The low-Ni steel shows a higher susceptibility to pitting. This could be explained by the different intrinsic chemical composition of both alloys, aided by the abundant presence of second phases (inclusions and delta ferrite) in the low-Ni steel.
