Effect of boric acid-sulfuric acid anodizing (BSA) on corrosion and fatigue of aeronautic aluminum alloys is studied and compared with that of chromate acid anodizing. The results show that the corrosion resistance of the anodized specimens is satisfactory for practical applications, compatibility of the anodizing specimens with coating, adhesive and sealant is excellent and not significant different from that of traditional chromate acid anodizing samples; fatigue resistance of BSA specimens is higher in high stress level and possible lower in low stress level, compared with that of traditional chromate acid anodizing samples.
