摘要

The cavitation damage characteristic of 20SiMn low alloy steel in HCl aqueous solution was investigated by using a magnetostrictive-induced cavitation facility. Morphologies of damaged surfaces and cross-sectional view were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that hydrogen-evolved reaction strongly affected the surface morphologies of 20SiMn steel. The initiation and propagation of crack on pearlite could be accelerated due to hydrogen embrittlement or inhibited due to cushioning effect of H2.
