Sacrificial Anodes for cathodic protection

The paper begins with a brief history of sacrificial anodes from the time of Davy until the present. The second part considers the role of iron, present as an impurity in the performance of aluminium sacrificial anodes. The third part considers the phenomenon of embrittlement that takes place with common zinc anodes when operating at temperatures at or around 70°C.
