The Nordic Height Block: Status Report

At the meeting of the Working Group for Height Determination of the Nordic Geodetic Commission, held in Akranes in June 2001, two sub-working groups (SWG) were formed for the calculation of the Nordic Height Block. The SWG for transfer and calculation is headed by Mikael Lilje and the SWG for land uplift model by Jaakko Makinen. We review the background of the project, the problems and the questions the SWGs are tackling, the work undertaken so far, and future tasks.
