摘要

The Hydra supercapacitor combines the large surface area of a low-cost carbon support material and the high redox capacitance of a thin metal oxide layer. The electrolyte system may be both organic and aqueous depending on the application. The electrode/electrolyte interface is characterized by ac impedance spectroscopy, which is demonstrated as a powerful tool for testing materials and monitoring the capacitance and state-of-charge of the capacitor. For this purpose a novel diagram of capacitance versus resistance is presented.
