This paper describes a modelling approach of the behavior of trickle-bed reactors used for catalytic hydrotreating of oil fractions. A dynamic plug-flow heterogeneous one-dimensional adiabatic model was used to describe the main reactions present in the hydrotreating process: hydrodesulfurization, hydrodenitrogenation, and hydrodearomatiza-lion. The model was solved using a finite differences scheme and was coupled with a flash calculation in ProII and thus, obtaining a simulation framework that can be generally used for such reactors.
