This study concerns the problem of investment choice for the realization of a helium extraction unit. Various possibilities must be taken into account: plant capacity, sitting, technology and partner choice. The definition and modelling of several scenarios represent a basis for supporting decision processes in light of choosing the better project, taking into consideration technical, economic and strategic aspects The problem is a multiple criteria decision analysis problem. The modeled scenarios are analyzed by using a multicriterion decision support module. The application of outranking approach PROMETHEE is illustrated. A further investigation of derived ranking has been obtained through sensitivity analysis.
