The research aims at building an efficient operating program within one week for an endoscopy unit composed of two specialized operating rooms, with an objective of both maximizing the operating room utilization and minimizing the overtime cost. Firstly, a tactical planning model for one week is built and solved by a column-generation-based heuristic procedure. Secondly, a daily scheduling problem is built in order to finally schedule the surgical cases assigned at the planning stage. This scheduling problem is simplified into an "open shop" model and solved by the Gonzalez-Sahni algorithm. Experimental data are randomly generated according to parameters coming from the "Croix-Rousse" hospital of Lyon.
