In this paper we present a discrete 2D vector generalization of the scalar mixed model we have developed fur the simulation of magnetization processes in particulate recording media. In the mixed-type models the magnetic moment of the particles system is calculated starting from micromagnetic (physical) hypothesis for the elementary hysteresis loops and from Preisach-type (phenomenological) distributions. The particles are grouped in several Preisach-type planes according to their easy axis orientation with respect to mean (system's) easy axis. The particle's elementary hysteresis loop is known as a function of magnetic field vector. The total magnetic moment of the system is calculated as vector sum of all elementary magnetic moments. A continuous version of the model is presented. The discrete model has been tested on various recording media magnetization processes.
