摘要

We have studied magnetic gradient levitation or bearings using bulk superconductors as a field shaping material to generate a restoring force that acts on the iron as it is displaced. The field shaping function was investigated by finite element analysis and experiments. From these results we discuss the relationships among superconducting characteristics, magnetic field structures and the electromagnetic force.
