GRADED RIGHTS OF VETO IN MULTIPLE CHOICE SYSTEMS

In a decision support system with multiple choice structure the computer recommends a clear handful of candidate solutions, and a human selects one of them, Such "Multiple Choice Systems" were for instance very successful in the game of chess under the name "3-Hirn". Two extreme settings are possible with respect to human veto: (ⅰ) The human has to accept one of the computer proposals without any modification. (ⅱ) The human inspects the computer proposals, but is completely free to realize a solution of his own. This paper proposes and discusses several intermediate grades of veto right.
