Reference materials for adequate porosity measurements

The objective of the OSTC-project, presented here, is to develop adequate reference materials for MIP (Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry). Moreover, it is the aim to critically evaluate the results of the MIP on the developed reference materials, comparing them with other pore analysis techniques, including SEM Image Analysis. Using 4 different ceramic manufacturing routes, 7 different candidate reference materials were produced with pore sizes between 5 nm and 0.3 mm. The first results of the project are presented.
