Within the colloidal techniques for shaping of ceramic products, the injection moulding of aqueous suspensions can be considered as attractive one since conceptually environmental friendly and cost effective. Through its development, one can attain an energy saving production process with a fairly high potential of automation. Among the binder additives used in the industry, the agar was selected to be added to different aqueous ceramic suspensions. The suspensions preparation, characteristics, and moulding have been studied and the optimised processing parameters have been reached. The physical-mechanical characteristics and microstructure of green bodies were correlated with moulding parameters, drying conditions and characteristics of starting feedstock. The obtained experimental results have been afterwards exploited to perform industry oriented tests enabling to evaluate the production potential of the studied forming technique.
