Interaction of some special Co, Fe and Ni alloys with sialon ceramics

In the tested samples fired at 1373 K there were found only traces of reaction products. Si and silicides produced from the alloys alone limited the reaction between alloys and SiAlON or Si_3N_4. As the temperature increased to 1623 K, the alloys reactivity considerably increased. SiAlON seems to be less prone to react.
