摘要

The present paper is concerned with the extension of the traditional displacement nite element method to the solution of boundary-value problems in the two-dimensional linear couple stress theory of elasticity. Three triangular nite elements of the displacement eld are discussed. Of particular interest is a triangular nite element with merely a total of nine degrees of freedom obtained through a modi ed principle of potential energy with relaxed continuity requirements.
