A stable air-liquid two-phase laminar flow was formed inside microchannels. Using the two-phase laminar flow, the concentration, which is one of the important unit operations, was integrated for the first time on a microchip. The solvents in samples were evaporated through the air-liquid interface inside microchannels. Since spontaneous evaporation at room temperature is not so effective, a Cr micro heater on a microchip was used for concentration of Co-DMAP/ethylacetate solution. 4-fold concentration of Co-DMAP by evaporation of seventy five percent of the solvent was realized within 1 minute.
