Several types of detection techniques have been developed for measuring thoron gas [1]. Intercomparison studies on measurement methods are useful to check the accuracy of measurements. Although many intercomparison studies have been conducted for radon, those for thoron have been scarcely done. In the present study, four methods for measuring thoron gas were compared using the Environmental Measurements Laboratory (EML; New York) environmental chamber. The results of the intercomparison exercise are presented.
