Several domestic intercomparison experiments of the size distributions of ~(222)Rn progeny by using four different types of low-pressure cascade impactors have been conducted in the KUCA reactor room of Kyoto University, of Japan. There were serious discrepancies between some impactors. The cause of these discrepancies originated mainly from the differences of the jet nozzle to the collecting plate distances and selection of the collecting substrates of the impactors.
