As the Internet rapidly becomes a premier learning tool, distance learning technologies (DLTs) are more often based on it. In this article issues regarding the efficiency evaluation and implementation of these technologies in technical education (engineering) are addressed. Most specific, a solution for a remote access laboratory is proposed. The hardware and the related software have been developed, having in mind the requirements for the "Electronic Devices and Circuits" course. Some experimental results are also presented.
