A Computer Aided Multi-media System for Diabetes Prevention and Treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine

The morbidity rate of diabetes is steadily on the increase world wide at present, and its prevention and cure become a prominent issue day and day. This paper is based on the experience of clinic practice more than 30 years and the research of computer aided system of rendering treatment according to an overall analysis of symptoms and signs of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in recent 20 years. With the integration concept, principle of treatment according to an overall analysis of symptoms and signs of TCM, the accumulated clinic data and the established knowledge base of more than 500 TCM drugs, we successfully developed a computer aided multi-media system for prevention and cure of diabetes, The system adopted artificial intelligence method and combined multi-media and computer network technology, it is operating steadily in Beijing Medical University Hospital.
