Modelling the geochemical behaviour of an unsaturated clay subjected to heating and hydration

The paper presents a formulation that is the results of combining an existing thermo-hydromechanical formulation with the reactive transport equations. The formulation has been incorporated in a general purpose computer code capable of tackling the numerical analysis of engineering problems. A validation exercise involving a laboratory experiment involving the heating and hydration of an expansive compacted clay is described.
