摘要

In this paper a new transportable machining unit with hybrid kinematic structure and a decentral and fist reacting maintenance concept for large metal forming tools is introduced. The hybrid kinematic structure of the machine tool is described. As a special aspect of the projected repair process chain, the problem of extraction of geometric data of the damaged metal forming tool is highlighted. Some possibilities given by modem reverse engineering systems are discussed and different approaches for the generation of geometric data in unknown surface areas are pointed out.
