A new numerical technique for reflection and absorption of one-dimensional (1-D) inhomogeneous anisotropic medium is presented. The waves propagating in 1 -D anisotropic medium, as well as incident plane wave with linearly polarized field, can be expressed as the sum of the right-circularly polarized (RCP) plane wave and the left-circular polarized (LCP) plane wave. After introducing the equivalent isotropic media for RCP and LCP plane waves, respectively, the scattering matrix method (SMM) for 1-D nonuniform isotropic medium can be developed to deal with the anisotropic problem. Numerical results are shown and compared with the literature.
