Biomass Fluidized Bed Devolatilization and Gasification Research in the State University of Campinas

This work is composed by two parts: the experimental studies on biomass devolatilization and the fluidized bed gasification processes. It were tested four different kinds of biomass: rice husk, sugarcane bagasse, sawdust and spent coffe grounds. The devolatilization study was carried out in a 95mm diameter reactor. As result it was verified that the bed temperature is the parameter of the greatest influence on the final gas composition. The gasification research was carried out in a 200mm diameter gasifier. As results are presented operation parameters for maximum efficiency conditions for each of the tested biomass.
