Cathodic electrophoretic deposition of cationic polyelectrolytes was combined with electrolytic deposition of ceramic materials to deposit nanostructured composite films. The films were studied using thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. It was established that film composition and deposition rate can be varied by variation of deposition conditions and bath composition. Uniform films with thickness up to 10 μm were prepared on different conductive substrates. The deposition mechanisms are discussed.
