The Opsis UV-DOAS monitor was ETV verified in April, 2000, for measurements of nitric oxide (NO), benzene (C6H6) and ammonia (NH3). The test included measurements of the target gases at different concentrations, path lengths, integration times, and source intensities to assess the minimum detection limit (MDL), source strength linearity, concentration linearity, accuracy, precision, and sensitivity to atmospheric interferences. The measured minimum detection limits at the 800 ft. (250 meter) test distance for nitric oxide, benzene and ammonia were 0.9, 0.5 and 2.8 ppb respectively. This paper provides a description of the UV-DOAS system configuration, the test procedure and a summary of the test results.
