This paper deals with a new predicted method for flow boiling heat transfer coefficients of carbon dioxide inside horizontal grooved tubes. The measured heat transfer coefficients were correlated based on a separated flow model because of lower density ratio (ρ{sub}l/ρ{sub}v) of carbon dioxide in an actual operating condition. The correlation equation of heat transfer coefficient on the bottom side surface of the tube was expressed based on the Chen correlation and that on the topside surface of the tube was developed using the Mori correlation, empirically. The calculated heat transfer coefficients showed good agreement with almost all of measured heat transfer coefficients within ±30% in accuracy.
