Freezing of Liquid Droplet Fallen on a Plate in Cold Room (Ice Growth Rate and Ice Formation Pattern)

摘要

Experimental and analytical studies for ice formation phenomena of water droplet fallen on a horizontal plate in a cold room have been performed. The ice formed in this method is so called ice stalagmite. The freezing velosity of ice was examined analytically and compared with the experimental data. It is shown that the increase in ice formation rate can be obtained for the increase in mass flow rate as well as the increase in intermittant factor of water droplet. The onset condition of column-ice chape has been analytically obtained.
