摘要

The purpose of this study is to experimentally examine very poor condensation heat transfer commonly presented in a thermosyphon using a water working fluid. The experiments are conducted by two types of test apparatus, one for examining condensation heat transfer without any effect of liquid carry-over and the other for visualization. From the visualization a dropwise condensation is found to be predominant heat transfer mechanism at a low power condition. Measured heat transfer shows very small amount of noncondensable gas has a considerable effect on condensation and prevents heat transfer from a filmwise condensation.
