Reviews of developments in PCM research technologies have been carried out and technological barriers highlighted. An encapsulated neuron-composite system has been proposed for enhancing heat transfer in drywall systems. The analysis shows that provided the assumptions could be achieved phase change process time is likely to be reduced by 60%, particularly during energy recovery mode. Further investigation and validation are however in progress at the Nottingham Trent University
