An easy way to generate polarimetric response graphs on a personal computer

This paper presents a free, easy-to-use tool for displaying polarimetric response graphs on a personal computer. This tool takes the form of a spreadsheet file in which the computations are performed automatically upon entering the Kennaugh matrix values. Theoretical Kennaugh matrices corresponding to a few basic scatterers are included for visual comparison with real signatures. Applying the tool to examine two sites selected on a polarimetric dataset acquired over a dense urban area, polarimetric response graphs are generated using pixel windows of varying size. Some indication of the variety of scatterers present in the scene can be observed by comparing the response graphs.
