A boiler with an output of 4 MWth has been installed at an industrial company to generate steam for the process. The industrial activity of the company involves the re-treading of tyres and those tyres that are no longer suitable for further re-treading are used as fuel in this new boiler. The design concept of the boiler was developed by INETI and the boiler was built by a Portuguese company from Oporto. The paper reports the results of the commissioning phase.
