BF4 of Shougang has been operated smoothly for 9 years since its third generation beginning in May 1992, with no inter relining and none stave broken. A series of BF body maintaining measures and campaign prolonging experience have been achieved through this year practice. The paper introduces some measures like cooling strength control, gas distribution adjustment, remained line thickness monitor, gunite line rebuild by remote control, and using Ti ore for hearth maintenance etc. It is predicted that the campaign life of BF4 can be up to 11 approx 12 years, and its output per cubic meter in whole life will be 8350 approx 9000 t.
