PURPOSE: A method for extending life cycle of blast furnace stave is provided to stabilize blast furnace operation and improve life cycle of the furnace body by forming an adherence layer having constant thickness on the inner surface of stave of the body of blast furnace. CONSTITUTION: The method for extending life cycle of blast furnace stave comprises the steps of calculating thickness of an adherence layer formed on the inner surface of stave by heat transfer analysis using temperature of the inner surface of the stave and cooling water; and controlling thickness ratio of ore layer/coke layer of the wall part and charging quantity of fine-grained sinter so that thickness of the adherence layer is always formed within the constant range, wherein thickness of the adherence layer is obtained by the following expressions 1 (q1=k1(Tc-Tw)/(d)) and 2 (q2=k2(Tg-Tc)/(t)), where Tc: temperature of thermocouple of the inner surface of the stave (deg.C), Tw: temperature of cooling water (deg.C), Tg: temperature of gas inside the furnace (deg.C), k1: thermal conductivity of stave matrix (kcal/mhC), k2: thermal conductivity of the adherence layer (kcal/mhC), d: a distance between cooling pipe and the inner surface of the stave (m), and t: thickness of the adherence layer (m).
