The paper describes different techniques for determination of K_Ⅰ and K_(Ⅱ) stress intensity factors during crack propagation through the CTS specimen. Under mixed-mode fracture the crack will kink at a certain angle, which can be estimated with different criteria that rely on proper calculation of the stress intensity factors. The paper evaluates different methods for determination of the stress intensity factors and crack propagation simulation. All methods give comparable values for the stress intensity factors, while different crack propagation results can be obtained by using different crack propagation simulation methods. These differences are presented for a range of mixed mode loadings. The observed differences are quite significant for pure mode-Ⅱ crack propagation simulations.
